DL flies LAX-PVG. OP is flying SFO-LAX-PVG. LAX-PVG is even an A350 route currently for DL. So yea it is possible that OP is on DL metal all the way through. DL does not fly SFO-PVG, which would be solely MU.

OP, have back-up options planned ahead (know what leaves around that time) in case you experience any delays, such as rerouting to SFO-SEA-PVG, or SFO-ICN-PVG on KE, or any other routings via SkyTeam hubs.
