I would recommend the Japanese restaurant Ebisu, which is directly outside of the secure area. It's a branch of the perenially highly-rated restaurant of the same name in SF, at 9th and Irving.

Security screening has always been fast for me in the International terminal, and all the gates are only a short walk. Even if you are able to catch the transit shuttle from the domestic secure area, there's no reason not to leave the secure area in the International terminal.
