4 hours is a long time in HKG even allowing for immigration into HKG and a stroll to re-check in. There are e-gates to leave now for many passport holders, not that seeing the dude in the booth takes all that long. Unless AA takes forever to offload the luggage I'd say you have 2 - 2 1/2 hours + to spare.
