Transiting MUC on separate tix

Hi -

My family and I are arriving in MUC on united from EWR at 730 am. Departing from MUC via Lufthansa to CDG at 1210. both are separate tickets and the lufthansa segment is refundable business.

I'm assuming I'll be able to interline bags at EWR since both are star alliance. Does anyone know if we have to clear immigration since transiting from non schengen to schengen?

In the worst case scenario, will have to collect bags and recheck in. I'm assuming nearly 5 hour connection is plenty of time right?

Last question, does "domestic" business class in europe get lounge access? would be nice to shower etc before flight to paris.

Thanks for all advice.
