five months is indeed a very, very unusual medical "fact". Since, I assume, you're not an MD, this explains why you don't find the story amazing from a medical point of view. If you think, though, that a comment like mine is inappropriate, I'd just say that the medical "details" (not so relevant in this story, I think) were brought up by the OP.
