Just create a calendar / phone notification / whatever for midnight 2 days before your flight.
In other words, if your flight is on Thursday, set a notification for 12am Tuesday morning (ie, late Monday night).
I don't think anything is changing with regards to fare class availability, so I'm not sure if EF can do this (I don't have an EF subscription). Google calendar (or any other calendar) will work though.
