Well now that is an interesting trick that anyone without Pre-Check or "status" could use to get into a priority line. I wonder if you made a habit of employing this strategy, you might eventually be "found out".
I once bought a refundable ticket (though not first class) to clear security so I could spend an hour with my brother and sister-in-law when they had a layover, then cancelled it by phone once I was in the sterile area.
