Thanks to all for trying to help out. I called AA EXP desk and talked to three different
agents but at the end of all that they could not assure me Business class
seat on AA or JAL from NRT to BOS. I can understand that since mine was a
Economy ticket and last minute upgrade space on AA or giving me JAL
business class seat was probably too much for them. (Maybe my Eagle
rating is not that high to go out of the way to help me)
But CX came through with flying colors. As I landed in HKG with delayed
departure from BKK, an agent was waiting with HKG-BOS direct
flight BP in Business + Hotel accommodation (12 hours or so) + meal vouchers at HKG
airport ! I am reaching couple hours later than original but with less stops :-)
I think CX takes OW alliance more seriously than any other airline
that I have seen. Great customer service recovery and makes me want to fly them more often...
Most of the airlines are OK when things are normal but great airlines differentiate
themselves when situation is not ideal. CX continually proves that it is in a different class...
