What can we do about the Canadair RJ700?
So, in a few weeks I'll be riding in an AA CR7. I haven't done that before.. so I went to seatguru and looked it up. According to the site, there are no seats that are better than any others! There isn't a darn thing I can do as a saavy consumer to get a better seat!
Is this some Canadian egalitarian thing? How did it seep below the border? Can't they keep that sort of social experiment up there where it belongs? We're a resolutely capitalist nation and, yet, here we are dealing with this imposition -- sitting there acting neighborly with people who'll let us have a piece of the armrest if only we let them tell us about their children, Flo and Tim, one of whom has gas and the other is a nice school teacher... but what if you don't want to hear about Flo and Tim? What if, in fact, you want to tune into the IFE and you discover (gasp) that there is no IFE, that it was considered an un-Canadian thing, this IFE, and you are supposed to sit there neighborly and discuss your seat-mate's children.. who may be named Flo and Tim. No, see we couldn't even get away for a moment in our imaginations... we have to be neighborly now... an armrest knows no property line, only the tense soul-bearing of forced conversation. <sigh>
Oh, friends up north, what terror have you wrought?? How has AA fallen into your clutches?!
<shakes fist angrily>
