AS site will show some invalid routings but they error out since they are not valid. You will need to find your own way home. Stop trying to get the call center to break it. I'm sure they have already passed on the fact you booked it to revenue mgt so they can fix it like they did to YVR. This is why we can't have nice things.
(1) It didn't error out; it ticketed online without issue.
(2) The guy on the phone couldn't have been nicer. We had a lot of chit chat about different airlines and awards and he encouraged me to continue looking for A space to YVR. He also explicitly suggested I use any schedule changes that may occur over the next few months to add on the leg if someone comes up later.
Paranoia and secrecy with agents does not really do any good. Treating them like humans and being respectful can get you a long way. Not every agent is looking to be the website routing police.
