Could anyone please tell me if I have to do immigration at Mumbai and claim my checked in baggage to again re-check it to the domestic flight, or would it be booked through to Kolkata? If not, is two hours enough for this?
Thanks
You will have to do your immigration at Mumbai, claim your baggage and go through customs and then recheck your baggage. It will not be booked through to CCU. 2 hours is going to be cutting it close at that time of the morning... there's usually a heavy rush in BOM till early morning. But you should be able to make it. Make sure you catch hold of AI people after you deplane to get them to help you.
The problem is of course that there is no AI flight till late evening to CCU. But if you keep letting AI folks know while after you deplane and while you're doing immigration etc. you should be ok. Stressed out and exhausted from running around but just about ok.
