I haven't been able to find a connection to a Hawaiian city on the West Coast that would work for me timewise.

On the other hand, I do find a $200-300 saving on leaving from LAN,in Y class, as suggested. The only connection that works for me involves a single DL leg (NW coded) LAX-HNL #341. Since it is Y class I will upgrade upon purchase for all the upgradable NW segments. The DL flight is also Y class and per DL is upgradable (for 5000!) Skymiles. FC is widely available. NW won't allow me to upgrade the DL segment with WP miles.

Questions: Does 5000 miles sound right, or way too little? If I upgrade with Skymiles, can I still get WP credit? There was athread on this or something similar a while back.

Lastly, where does DL leave from in LAX? Is i hour 8 minutes adequate time to change terminals?
