Considering VA because their planes for US-AU flights seem to outclass DL's 777s that are in need of a refresh.
Do check that a VA coded wouldn't earn more. Everything, including MQD is mileage based, when flying on VA coded flight. Ticketing carrier hasnt mattered since Jan 1 this year.
