Baggage Services - Incompetence or Liars?
I am still waiting for my bags in Salalah, Oman and my experience with Qatar has been extremely disappointing.
My troubles began at Heathrow where I connected on 16 November to QR 10 departing at 0900. Arrived from a BA IAD-LHR flight at 0550. Connection time... 3+ hours.
At the QR lounge I was repeatedly assured that there was no issue with my bags being transferred to my QR flight.
Arrival at Doha. No bags. 45 minutes as baggage carousel where no one can tell me anything.
Baggage services at Doha tells me bags will go to Salalah via fast route. Wrong. I identified several routes to include BA via MCT.
Bags send to Doha on QR 2 arriving 0615 on 17 November. With any priority they could have been placed on QR 1140 at 0755... my flight.
I fly to Salalah and file report... not allowed to file at Doha.
I am assured that when bags arrive at 2135 they will be sent directly to hotel.
Many calls to QR. At 10 AM, a call from QR from Doha saying bags will be at hotel at 1015.
It is now 1115 on 18 November and no bags.
Whether it is incompetence or lies... the performance by QR and their agents has been unacceptable.
