My wife and I have an AA flight booked next month in which we will check in 2 bags between us, each way. So that’s $110 in fees total. I want one of us to get this card to avoid that.

I had the Citi AA Plat from 2011-2017 but downgraded it just over a year ago because they stopped giving retention offers and I had no plans to fly AA. It was a Visa, then changed to a MC. When that happened, my card number changed. I can’t remember when that was, and that’s important to know if I’m to apply for a new bonus. Does anybody remember when this happened?

Also, in case I don’t qualify for a bonus and my wife applies for the card, will we still be eligible for 2 free checked bags? The award reservation was booked from my BA account with her name obviously in the reservation.
