It is always easier to find an adaptor plug in your country of origin. It's only common sense if you think about it. If you go into a local Boots or T5, you will find all kinds of UK to X adapters. That's because those are what people in the UK would want to buy. How likely do you think it is that Boots would have a Australia to UK adapter? The answer is that it would be highly unlikely. So waiting till you get to Australia is likely to mean a far more difficult time finding what you need.

Mwenenzi, I would like to see you responding that you actually went to your local Coles & Woolworth supermarkets and looked to see if they were selling UK to AUS adapters, not just AUS to UK adapters. You certainly would not find any AUS to N. American adapters here in Canada at our major local supermarkets, only N. American to AUS adapters. I think sometimes people see all the adapters in the 'travel needs' section and ASSUME they sell 'foreign to local' not just 'local to 'foreign'.
