Is your companion certificate gifted to you or do you have an AS credit card account? You do get a new companion certificate on each anniversay that a CC account is active. Of course, if you close an account to avoid the annual fee you wouldn't receive another companion certificate.
I love my companion certificates. I used one last night and saved $1,228.12 on the second ticket. I don't mind the $75.00 AF
