Anyway, on the positive side Amex has quickly resolved the dispute and refunded my money in less than 15 hours. I filed the dispute through the AmEx SPG account page yesterday evening. The main thing they wanted was the Cancellation #. It was a breeze and now back to real world again. Thanks again for everyone's support and cannot appreciate the terrific Amex support enough as well..
