Despite of Brexit I think that Birmingham, possibly Glasgow and less likely Newcastle would be Candidates as compared with Middle-Eastern carriers. A year round Bergen and possibly Stavanger might be on radar. In Poland Wroclaw is a surprisingly nice city as well as Dresden in Germany. Probably low yields. Nuremberg was tried once a day like Hanover and Stuttgart now, but I think twice aday would be essential. Bologna, Nice, Pisa/ Florence and Venice should atttract tourists from East Asia round the year. A restart of LGW and a new route to LCY could be possible now that BA has decided to end the second daily service. Estonian air announced a reduced capacity flight from LCY to TLL with Embraers so it could be a way for Finnair but how about the yields.
I also hope for a return to HEL-BOS for a great city and HEL-PHL for connections. MH used to have a route from KUL to NYC via ARN so Helsinki could be a hub for East Coast to South East Asia. Many Emirates and Qatar routa fly over Finland to Western USA but Middle East to US will probably never be succesful.
Yes, I know I’m only dreaming.
