Just checked with Alaska on Twitter, who passed me to text reservations, who confirmed that it will be a new discounted first fare. They haven't filed any fares so no idea what pricing will be like (or restriction of benefits either), but if I had to speculate, I'd agree with others in terms of benefits: no CoS bonus, no free checked bags and no lounge access included.
Most other carriers have 4+ published seat buckets for their business / domestic F cabins (i.e., J/C/D/I). AS has 2, but "P" represents more than one fare basis for the "P" seat bucket. This will hopefully make it more clear, because a "P" fare on a particular route could be, i.e., $599, or $799, etc., depending on inventory.
