IF I'm just one night credit short for the new status, can I just redeem, say 5k or 8k points for one night, but do not actually stay? I get enough points from UR or Hyatt and I can just redeem a 5k hotel at some remote location. I remember reading that some hotels require actual personal check-in. Not sure about Hyatt's policy. Or I need to go for a $5k spending on the card.
