My wife applied for her SW Plus card on 9/29/2017 and her 3K points for renewing posted 10/20/2018 after she paid the AF.

I wouldn't risk losing a year of CP hoping the 3 or 6K points post in time.........just buy some gift cards that you can use later, Costco and many grocery stores have GCs with no added fees
