Yes for various reasons. Change in demand, aircraft being taken out of service for new seat updating, shifting aircraft needs elsewhere. The type of a/c could be changed the day of flight. AA for whatever reason seems to take paxs seated in front of the Y cabin and reassign them to the very back during equipment changes, even EXPs. Don't ask me why.
