I just finished spending 5 years in PUW, which, as sturges says, has similar weather issues. All that time I never flew in or out of PUW - mostly GEG, occasionally PDX or SEA (when I had other business on the west side). Because most of my flights were between JNU and PUW, which both have few flights and often poor weather in the winter, I liked the frequency and reliability that GEG provided. I probably took this to the extreme more than I needed to (I did a couple of 2am Pullman departures to catch the 5am to SEA out of GEG) but never had any issues, so...
