I'm back east for the Aug 2-4 week, but around for all the other three. I don't think the RWC area is a big problem in the evening if we started around 7 or later. Don't know too much about downtown Redwood City.
We probably should go for someplace fairly easy to find.
Amazingly, there is an acceptable restaurant in the Marriott at the intersection of 92 and 101, but even though you can see the hotel from both freeways, it's rather hard to get to. There is, of course, the Max's off of 101 in Burlingame that we have gone to many times. For prime rib, if we are all meat eaters, there is Gulliver's up the street from Max's.
I don't know where the branch of the Fish Market mentioned above is, but the chain doesn't take reservations (unless we are a larger group? I dunno?).
The Palo Alto choice closest to the freeway is Ming's (Chinese) at the Embarcadero exit. Good upscale Chinese.
