The annual fee was $89, posted on my August statement, and paid off with that; the credit called for spending over three months. The required spending should show on my November statement, which I will pay off; based on past history, I expect that the credit will show on my December statement at the earliest, and it would show a $100 credit balance. For a time, it looked like getting 100 AA miles without it costing new money would take me over a target miles balance, but I think that's no longer the case, and I would make charges on other cards to reach other goals, and expect to receive a check to cover the credit balance.
To report for the record, on this (Aviator Red) the spending target period closed 10/25, and the statement closed 11/11. The $100 credit appeared on that statement, and I got the AA miles for the full amount of spending (not 100 less).
