This is a common occurrence now that the remaining planes with extra J seats are being reconfigured with PE. These frames are floating around the system and interchanged regularly. For example, I'm waiting to board AA70 DFW-FRA. Just noticed the plane got swapped to N785AN, which is a frame that has the Zodiac Concept D seats- alternating forward-backwards. My seat which was originally forward-facing according to the seatmap is now rear-facing (I don't mind).
If you want to guarantee a forward-facing seat, always select the even numbers on the "A" side (like 2A, 4A etc.) and the odd numbers on the "L" side (1L, 3L etc.).
