Absolutely true. I just cannot imagine that Bulgari can overhype the Amans in the long run to justify those ridiculous rates. Especially in this most competitive market of luxury resorts in the world (btw a St. Regis resort will be opened next year). As I said, Bulgari was quite appealing to me but my experience at Amankila was just extraordinary great (although suite interior design had to grow on me after seeing the Bulgari) and I just cannot imagine that Bulgari can top this very special experience to justify an even higher rate than at the Amans.

As one of Bulgari's staff summarized his inside view of staff culture to me quite openly when asked how he likes the resort:" It is nice...(pause)...but it is no Aman. When I worked with Amanresorts, the staff community felt as a big family and everybody cared for each other. This always translated into an excellent service towards the customers. Here, it is just a job. After it is done, everybody goes home. No special uniting family feeling..."
