I've noticed that some people seem to be able to determine what FIN they will be travelling on. I've heard you can use the app, I've seen the information sometimes available on 3rd party sites like flightradar24.com, however I don't seem to have a reliable way to determine this information.

My personal desire for this information is because of the DH4s with small bins frequenting YVR-YYJ and back. The specific aircraft can impact my seat selection choice, and maybe even how I pack prior to travel.

Personally I use the android app, and I haven't been able to find this data in there. I checked the Air Canada FAQ thread, and did not find any resource to walk people through how to do this.
