Nope, the GCH (and SCH) blocking of adjacent seat only applies to fliers with lower status , if another passenger has same or higher seat is not blocked by FLY etc

eg
o GCH in 1A , a GCH/PREM can grab 1C, 1C blocked to others (SCH/BronzeCH/BlueCH)
o SCH in 1A a GCH/PREM/SCH can grab 1C, 1C blocked to others (BronzeCH/BlueCH)
