25k points seems pretty good for this situation, are you satisfied with that?

I don’t know if the points came from MR or the hotel but overall I think the hotel was being pretty fair by offering the suite elsewhere and crediting the difference between the room types at their hotel, and now the points. But yeah, they probably shouldn’t have called what they gave you an upgrade—they’re probably saying that because that room is an upgrade for that particular room thpe, just not the one you booked. However, as mentioned it seems that the guarantee is more about bed type than room type.
