If row 9 is an exit row, then that suggests you are in one of the A321 services, and from GLA these often do spec to row 10 for Club Europe. This is unlikely to happen on other aircraft since an A319 is going to have perhaps 4 rows CE and the exit row is row 10. If they have too big a CE on that service they need extra crew so you can guess how likely this is to happen by looking at fares. This is a good example of curtain roulette, from GLA (and EDI utterly so) I would not have selected that row, but row 23, TS would probably give you an empty seat there too. If you're on a tight connection then I'm sure you will find some seats a bit nearer the front. But it only takes a few minutes to decant at T5, you would be very unlucky to get a missed connection for that reason alone since ReAccom would rebook everyone or no-one.

Question... That weird row in front of the first exit row (I think its row 9) with 2 seats on each side. What do they do with that if it turns to CE?
