When paying the cash rate, they add an additional 10% service charge on the room rate AND resort fee.
My email confirmation shows an "Early Departure Fee" of $1,500 for a one night stay. This wasn't disclosed when I made my booking--also seems unreasonable.
The property looks great but I will look at other hotels without these high fees for the other days of my stay.
It may have gotten lost in the length of my post #38 , but they very kindly did not charge me for the first missed night of my stay (airline issue--missed connection). This was a prepaid, nonrefundable rate (although it had not been charged to my card prior to arrival). All IHG hotels list an early departure fee on the confirmations. Do you think you might need to cut your stay short? Same as posted above, no 10% charged on resort fee. Honestly these extra fees plus 16% gratuities are charged at all hotels in the Cayman Islands. Even the plentiful condos charge extra fees. I thoroughly enjoyed the excellent Kimpton and the Cayman Islands, but one visit was enough to satisfy my curiosity.
