Just to add to the mix, on long haul there are twice as many aisle seats as window seats, which skews the supply of window/aisle seats massively.
Nope it's a statistic (and fairly well known by check in agents who pay attention), a lot more people choose a window than an aisle (we are obviously talking about travel contexts where it is "either/or" such as Y).
