The club lounge is decent, especially during the day and early evening with the pool and view and drinks offered. For breakfast when I was there as a Globalist it was free in the restaurant, and it was excellent. The quality of the food and service in the restaurant was excellent, so I would be disappointed if this changed and they charged 50%. I actually never went to the lounge in the mornings because the restaurant was so good.

As far as walking to Kalama, as others have said its near the hotel about 10minutes down the road, but there is no sidewalk and cars and motorbikes come flying along the road so use caution. But I think it is a fine beach with nice water and lots of restaurants shops in the area.
