I don't understand your comment...who did they stick in a seat for 9 hours? If you mean the space available in a seat you bought was not enough, why did you buy that ticket / seat in the first place? You are free to buy tickets from airlines that give you more space for the same price, better service, better schedules etc. Information about seats / space etc is easily available here on FT, on seatguru etc.

They probably don't give a toss but just take your money to whoever gives you better value.
