I am sending my wife back on Monday, AKL-SFO-RDU. She is traveling on two separate tickets. UA Business Class trans-Pacific connecting to Alaska First SFO-RDU. She has 3+ hours for the connection. Is there usually a counter past customs in SFO where she can re-tag to Alaska or will they make her take luggage to T2 counters? I was also going to suggest she use the Polaris Arrivals lounge which I believe is on the way to T2.
Any advice appreciated as I am not familiar with SFO arrivals and I need to be as specific as I can be with her guidance.
