Hmmm - I think you misunderstood! I wasn't actually on JFK-LHR during the day (It was a roundtrip to Boston). The only reason I mention this flight is to inform you that the A340-600s that serve it have inferior IFE, in case this was of any interest to you or a factor in choosing flights :-)

I am honestly not that experienced with wheelchair assistance. If I was to take an educated guess, it wouldn't matter whether you booked with VS or DL, you would need to approach the operating carrier to book a wheelchair service. So for example, if you booked VS to LHR and DL back to JFK, you'd need to go to your booking on VS.com to arrange wheelchair assistance for your flight to London and then DL.com to arrange wheelchair assistance to JFK. I do not know that for sure though. But there will be a way to arrange it for sure.
