After years of abuse, my beloved (and slightly-too-big but never-checked) Tumi hard side carry-on is nearing its end of life. I've been looking at the usual suspects to replace it but wonder if anyone's flown on Alaska with either of the Away brand carry-ons in the new overhead bin size restriction era.

I've seen extended reviews of the suitcase itself on FT, but am curious about whether anyone's gotten in trouble carrying on the "larger" size.
