If you think that is bad, try the Internet in some of the European properties! London, Paris and Amsterdam all make that $9.95/day seem like pocket change, especially when you factor in the exchange rate! Not to mention, in London and Amsterdam, it's through BT OpenZone and Swisscom (respecitvely), so it doesn't even show up on your hotel charge for Hilton points... grr!
Only bright side is the Hilton coupon code that gives the free 30 days of BT OpenZone
