When I find a program with no LT status, I wouldn't even look at the other details lol. But you are right, you essentially have to climb the ladder step-by-step.

Problem with DL is similar to BA:

SkyMiles are awful. 21-day advance policy. Much more dynamic than UA/AA(Although they are getting there). If you get on MU/CZ Premium fares, you have to go through China Airspace and PVG/CAN are not pleasant in terms of transit and ground experience. If you look at CDG/AMS to connect, then it is better, but their J lounges are not really that good to begin with. Lackluster food options,
