Thats my question too. How many years Platinum so far? Since you need 10 years of Plat in addition to the required nights, I’d make sure I qualified as Plat for the new Marriott program each year for at least the next 6 years (50 nts x 6 years Plat = 300 needed nights) OR 4 years of PP (4 years x 75 nts = 300). If you have excess nights, you could try out another program & have a back-up program in case your travel patterns change. You could get an affiliated hotel credit card for your back-up program which would give you mid-tier or higher status when you stay. BUT I’d say that if you like the elite benefits and hotel choices of the combined MR/SPG program, you might as well continue toward earning lifetime status.
