I was disappointed as well by the Club Lounge BBQ downgrade as I mentioned in my comments last year, and I could understand someone who would decide to travel elsewhere as a result, but if you intend to vacation in Phuket what are your options? The only other hotel I am aware of with a lounge is Hilton and the Hyatt Regency is still a far superior hotel so for those who care about having a lounge, Hyatt is hard to beat. Marriott/Starwood have some decent hotels in Phuket but no lounge; a downgraded lounge remains better than no lounge. Also Hyatt Regency continues to be quite generous with room upgrades for those with elite status. I am less familiar with Accor properties but based on what I know, Hyatt Regency is still the best value for the money as far as I am concerned especially for Globalists.
