I think you can only add your name as a second guest and even though the property may extend benefits, they don't have to.

Have you checked to see if you can transfer points directly from your wife's account to yours? Starwood always offered unlimited transfers between people living at the same address, and I have not heard of that benefit going away. It might be worth checking into. Good luck.
