I'm assuming you have a decent internet connection >=100Mbps. You def want to get an 802.11ac device for video streaming. MIMO is also something to look for (Multi In, Multi Out). For your Apple TV, I'd recommend hard wiring it to ethernet (if feasible).

If you have a higher "tech IQ" score, get a Ubiquity UAC-AC-PRO access point and a Unifi Security Gateway (router). Both can be had for under $300. A bit more advanced to set up but far more powerful than any consumer grade system.

I wish I had back all the money I spent on consumer grade router/APs the last 10 years. It's ridiculous what they're charging for some of these devices now. $300 for an underpowered consumer grade router that will, likely burn up in <2 years...which sounds like what the OP is describing on their current device.

Additionally, don't waste your time and money on the Apple stuff, it's been technically obsolete for years (and I see now officially so).
