But pilots will still need to do a familiarization training for the A350 if they are A380 qualified. Airlines with smaller fleets such as KLM and NZ have dual flight rated pilots so they have a greater pool of pilots to schedule with, but BA have (still do?) separate type ratings with their 777/787's flight crews.
I know a BA A380 pilot, I'll ask him and get it from the horses mouth what is going on. Else I'm sure Jumbodriver or one of the other pilots on here will know what is going on.
