I am confused too. Not that you get an EY PNR on top of an AF PNR due to codeshare. But that you can use the codeshare PNR with EY to link your EY card to. The fact you cannot select seats is probably a clear signal - as EY gold you probably should be able to do so normally at the EY website. Please report again once you have flown if your status miles indeed were booked - that would point at an interesting loophole.
