When you talk about "tapping the token" do you mean this is like the MRT in Singapore where you can just touch the card, or your wallet holding tha card, at the turnstile?
BTS and MRTA systems are owned by separate entities. The Thai government is "negotiating" buying back the rights to BTS operations from the concessionaires (i.e., taking what they want).
