I used my US-issued ICBC Union Pay card at a local Japanese restaurant in Jiangsu, Rudong, Nantong inside the Landison Hotel. They didn’t accept MC/Visa or room charges and said China issued card or cash only. I ate there multiple times; they used the Quickpay feature on a portable machine table side and most of the time I had to sign (which took them by surprise). A couple of times I had to enter my 6-digit pin. They were most surprised that a Caucasian had this card!
