I looked around, picked one table, removed the dirty dishes, and when I went to pick up some food, I asked the staff member with the wet towel in hand to clean my table, since it was dirty and sticky.

Her reaction: "it's not my job to clean tables"
ok986: "Excuse me?"
Staff member: "it's not my job to clean tables"
ok986:"sorry then, I assumed since you have a wet cloth in your hand"
She threw that cloth into a bucket, gave me the nastiest look, went to clean the table, and then found me at the bar and announced me that "[my] table has been cleaned now for [me]"
No offence intended but if the lounge was deserted would it not just have been easier to walk a few more yards and find another spot that was clean? The soft chairs with side tables attached are quite easy to eat from.
